                In 1927, the following businesses were started and are were still operating in 1984 and later:

Geiger's Men and Boy's Wear, 17136 Lorain Avenue, was still in business in 1997 but by 2004 the building housed Shoreline Army Navy Store.

 

Riverside  Hardware, 17015 Lorain Avenue, in 2004, the building housed Hasting House Home Health Care.

 

Cleveland Trust Bank, later, AmeriTrust, 17138 Lorain Avenue.  AmeriTrust became part of KeyBank.  Much of the building in 2004 housed offices.

 

The first gasoline station in the Kamm's Corner area was a Gulf Station built in 1930, on the northwest corner of Rocky River Drive and Lorain Avenue.  Kamm's Corners Shell gas station was located at that site in 1997.

 

Marti Rini built a fruit stand in 1930 operated it on the northwest corner of Lorain Avenue and Rocky River Drive.

 

F. W. Woolworth Co. had a store at 17119 Lorain Avenue.  Several appliance businesses occupied that address in 1997.

 

In 1930 at 16600 Lorain Avenue, a Western Auto store was built and remained for many years.  The building later housed Baby World and, in 1997, Phil's Pets.
