Residents are encouraged to consider participation in the
West Park Historical Society
an independent organization
not connected with the pre-existing West Park History web site
but we certainly support the Society.

Our mission is to promote the preservation, study,
interpretation and appreciation of the history of
the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio.

Have you ever imagined you could travel back through time to see your house and neighborhood as they appeared decades ago? Maybe you’re curious about a local landmark that seems to date from horse-and-buggy days. Or perhaps you remember your parents’ nostalgic stories of bygone places.

If you grew up in West Park you may be interested in recalling the great restaurants, old diners, custard stands, movie theaters, neighborhood stores, schools, playgrounds and parks that were such a big part of our lives. Want to see photos of these old places? Our photo archive is growing daily!

The West Park Historical Society is made up of neighbors and friends who feel just as you do. Our mission is to study and record the history of West Park and offer programs to the community — and have lots of fun doing it!

West Park Historical Society memberships and calendars make wonderful gifts for parents and family members who enjoy “walking down memory lane” — gifts they will truly appreciate and look forward to throughout the year.

Benefits to WPHS members include our four-page newsletter, mailed three times per year, filled with interesting stories and fascinating historical photos. Members also receive discounts on our annual collectible calendars featuring images of West Park’s past.

Please join us in our endeavor to preserve West Park history for future generations.
